In this CD Set Thich Nhat Hanh, Zen master looks deeply into
the roots of anger and emerges with real solutions to the
violence we commit against ourselves and each other. He uses
the philosophy of non-dualism to show that we are not separate,
but one with our feelings and the world. Thich Nhat Hanh teaches
that the awareness of anger, not its suppression, is the key
to its control. This 2CD Set includes practical teachings
on how to transform anger through meditation; cultivate non
violence toward self; put kindness into action to heal the
wounds between nations; what the Vietnam War taught us; teaching
children peacemaking; and more.

Buddha
encouraged the practise of Metta Sutta, the loving kindness
meditation to cultivate a limitless heart towards all beings
above, below and all around. Pali chanting, spoken by
Buddha over 2000 years ago, is used on track three in a short
sitting meditation. The Guided Meditation to Conclusions on
track four (41mins) discusses posture, then asks you to think
about kindness; to visualise the smiling face of Buddha in statues
and paintings; to absorb his living kindness into your heart.
When your heart is filled with kindness, project it outwards
to all living beings and rejoice in your good deeds. Let all
be free from pain and suffering. May all be happy at heart.
|
In
the Vietnamese Zen tradition, mindfully chosen music and words
can serve as soothing droplets to cool the heart. Recorded on
location at Plum Village in France, this CD invites you into
the sanctuary of this practice. These deeply felt works include
the poetry of legendary Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh, the Vietnamese
folk songs and Buddhist hymns of Sister Chân Không,
and chants performed by the nuns and monks of Plum Village.
Drops of Emptiness is an opportunity to share in musical contemplations
rarely heard outside the seclusion of this cherished Zen monastery.
